Angry Gay Men react to increasing Homophobic Hate Crime

HUDDERSFIELD police officer Mark Carter is an angry man.
Angry because of news about the brutal homophobic attack on Pc James Parkes outside a popular gay bar in Liverpool.
A pack of up to 20 people apparently targeted the 22-year-old because of his sexuality, leaving him with multiple skull fractures, a fractured eye socket and a broken cheekbone.
And Pc Carter is angry because homophobia is still a real risk, years after he joined the police and admitted his sexuality.
As an openly gay policeman and the winner of Mr Gay UK 2006, Pc Carter has also experienced hate crime.
“I was so angry when I read about this horrific attack, it shows that the shadows of homophobia are still there, under the surface of society.”
Pc Carter told people about his sexuality in 2005.
Within a year, he was holding the Mr Gay UK trophy surrounded by supporters, family, friends and fellow police officers and their wives.
“When I held that trophy in the air it was the most amazing feeling, for those few minutes there was just this extraordinary relief. Everyone in that room accepted me”.
Pc Carter said attitudes towards homosexuality are improving but this has not always been the case.
“I have been to many incidents where I have had people just stopping, looking me up and down and shouting, ‘You’re that gay bobby aren’t you?’’’
He attended a domestic violence situation not long after he came out, and was surrounded by a mob as he and a colleague got out of the police car.
“Amidst the cries from the crowds, I could hear the shouts of ‘queer’ and ‘faggot’.
“I didn't want to call for back-up and put other officers in danger because I didn’t like the insults they were throwing at me.
“But deep down I knew it was wrong.”
Yet, during the next job, when he attended the site of a stolen, abandoned car, he was approached by a member of the public who thanked him for publicising the fact he was gay.
“He shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said thank-you, and that meant a lot.”
A couple of years later, while on a train with one of his best friends, he arrested two men hurling homophobic and racist abuse to his fellow passengers.
Even though he was off-duty, he chased after one of them and pinned him down.
“I had been down to Brighton, had a lovely break and then I had to tackle these two idiots.
“One tried to run off so I ran after him. It must have looked pretty ridiculous, there I was sprinting down the platform wearing cut off jeans, a vest and a pair of flip flops.”
Pc Carter said, since he joined the police force five years ago, he had seen people’s attitude to homosexuality change for the better and attacks like the one against Pc Parkes were becoming less and less frequent.
He expressed the importance of educating young people when they are at school and talking to them about sexuality, so they can understand and accept people from all walks of life.
“Times have changed, people’s opinions are moving in a positive direction – these people should pat themselves on the back and encourage others to do the same.
“My thoughts are with the partner and family of my fellow officer Pc Parkes and I am sure the investigating team will be doing all they can to bring his attackers to justice.
“This is about standing up for what is right.”
Another angry gay man standing up for what is right, is Pink Pasty:- Down here in Cornwall in my own factual experience and that to which I would testify in court, it is the vile Cornwall police who are the grossly homophobic scum & are deeply homophobic in their prejudice & discrimination towards gay people, just as anti-gay as any neo-Nazi or member of the BNP. Yes…the police!

…police officer homophobic scum like Sergeant Rowe stationed at Helston, who point blank refused to take a statement from a gay witness to an attempted extortion of another gay man. The same police officer went on to target the gay victim of the attempted extortion, even admitting it was because he recognised the gay man that he proceeded to target him.
That remains the risk for gay people reporting homophobic incidents to police in Cornwall…red neck pseudo BNP homophobes just like Sgt Rowe of Helston. A police officer who still believe queers are a soft target for his brand of intimidation & police abuse of power…but Sgt Rowe is not an isolated case of police abuse of gay persons…the homophobic scum abound within the Cornwall police force
…in 2006 in the evening of the famous Helston Flora day, three police officers attended a violent assault upon two gay/bisexual men…There were numerous other gay witnesses, but none willing to come forward due to the Cornwall police homophobic attitudes. The police actually assisted the blind drunk assailants to get in a taxi to enable them to leave the scene of the assault. The assailants had attempted to STAMP on the head of one of the victims. When one of the victims attempted to give a statement & report the incident the following day to Helston Police station, which is renowned as a hot bed of HOMOPHOBIC police officer scum (and just as likely racists as well) . The police threatened to prosecute the victim who had been beaten to the ground and had to attend hospital. (I know as I was one of the victims assaulted and who attended the police station to gie a statement)
Cornwall HOMOPHOBIC SCUM police have ALAWAYS POINT BLANK REFUSED to identify the three police officers concerned…and have continued to refuse to investigate the complaint.
We are not talking about the odd one or two homophobic scum in the Cornwall police, we are talking about a widespread protected, embedded homophobic attitudes & practices of abuse & intimidation towards gay persons. This is protected right through to the very top, since numerous letters & emails to Chief Constable Steven Otter have been repeatedly ignored as the Chief Constables office covers up the abusive practices of the Cornwall police scum.
Then there is DC woods, now there is a lying homophobe who I have personally had to ask to desist telling homophobic jokes in a public bar and who quite happily went out of his way to deliberately target a gay man. Thank God that he is one homophobe out of the police now. We don not need homophobic scum like Woods in a modern police force.
But let’s not forget PC Tar & colleague who LIED & LIED when deliberately witholding court paperwork from a gay man …and his colleague later lied about a non-existent signature in a pocket book.
But lets not forget DC Anning…a particularly vicious homophobic police officer who deliberately withheld a computer and business records from a gay business man causing the collapse of his businesses. These are the sort of protected BNP type homophobic scum in the Cornwall police force right now, today in 2009!
Then there is DC Parker who ignored evidence, dismissed witnesses & failed to follow up on public information following a serious false rape allegation…but the victim of the false allegation was a gay man and is typical of the homophobic prejudice & discrimination within Cornwall’s corrupt & disreputable CID unit based at Camborne.
Perhaps one of the vilest of homophobic Cornwall police officers is DC Magnus Scott, this police officer is almost single handed responsible for this blog being started initially following his perjury & other abuse of gay peoples lives. THIS POLICE OFFICER IS A REAL HOMOPHOBIC SCUM POLICE OFFICER of the very worst type.
The diversity officers are no better PC Steve Cannon blatantly lied in an email trying to bullying a complaintent into being quiet about experience of police homophobia…And another diversity officer PC Arron Piper blatantly lied to the gay press.
The plain fact is the vast majority of Cornwall police officers I have encountered are gross homophobic scum in and in the last five years very little has changed as these named & identified prejudicial & discriminatory filth in uniform are still in positions of power to abuse & violate the lives of gay people without any risk of any thing being done about it…
It is STILL the Cornwall police who are the greatest threat to gay people in violating & abusing their lives..
Homophobic Scum like those in Liverpool who abused, assaulted and beat a young 22yr old …all I would need to do is visit any police station in Cornwall to meet exactly that sort of homophobic scum…and most of them have a police warrant card.
The FACT is in CORNWALL, in the UK, if you want to encounter the sort of sick mentality of homophobic prejudice and discriminatory thinking which led to the violent assault upon a young man leaving him hospitalised or the brutal murder of a 62 year old gay man recently in London…simply approach the homophobic scum like those named in this blog & still protected within the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary by Chief Constable Steven Otter.
There is simply very little difference between the scum who assaulted the young man in Liverpool and the average homophobic Cornwall police officer in 2009.
