Plymouth Pride Forum Closed Down!

With imediate effect orders were recieved to close down the PlymouthPrideForum on instruction by the new chairperson, Alan Pottinger.


Ah, who says freedom of speech is dead! Well not dead, just stifled and censored by some in Plymouth/Exeter who it would appear that they might rather others did not know, speak openly & freely about the truth of endemic institutional homophobia prevelent in the southwest!



For what its worth, This was the Plymouth Pride Forum Mission Statement


Mission Statement

To make Plymouth a place where lesbian, gay, bisexual , trans people and communities can live, work and celebrate life free from discrimination, prejudice and fear.

Objectives

1. To work in the Plymouth area for the benefit of LGBT communities.

2. To be a collective voice for the LGBT communities.

3. To provide environments where LGBT individuals can meet for support and social activities.

4. To actively promote equality in services for LGBT people by influencing and responding to change in the wider community.

5. To establish Plymouth Pride Forum as an organisation which will ensure effective communication, information and publicity for members and wider LGBT communities.

6. To actively promote LGBT issues, including equality and other rights

Unfortunately, the PlymouthPrideForum? (Intercom Trust???) have subsequently failed abysmally to uphold their very own mission objectives by their failing repeatedly those very lgbt persons abused & violated in the southwest by the very organisations the PlymouthPrideForum/Intercom Trust were/are so busy sucking up too! IE:- The Homophobic Devon & Cornwall Police, amongst others.

The irony is the plug gets pulled as LGBT persons vocally started to raise awareness in open discussion forum of the depth of Homophobic problems in the institutions of Cornwall/Plymouth (in particular the endemic homophobic practises & attitudes STILL embedded within the Cornwall police force)this seems to have upset some with a vested (commercial/financial/grants?) interest in peddling spin that things were improving. In Reality they are not!

Is this yet another example of the 'Intercom' mafia? dictating how & what lgbt persons should think & say when based upon our actual lgbt community factual experiences of continued Institutional Homophobia in the southwest?

When the "Intercom Trust" actively tries to ostracise, marginalise & exclude those lgbt persons in Cornwall/Plymouth for expressing factual lgbt knowledge & experience, you just know that there is something definately rotting and stinking within the organisation. God forbid that they (Intercom???) should actually help any lgbt persons whose lives have been violated, abused & effectively destroyed by such police officers as have been previously mentioned on this blog!

The new OutPlymouth forum (still has a few gremlins & glitches) is up and running!
